Default Doing a swap on a EF hatch, have some questions..

I am swapping a '91 LS motor into a '89 DX Hatch. The previous owner had an LS in it, but then took it out. The LS had cruise control, I took that crap off. Now the throttle cable is too long. Am I supposed to use a different throttle cable, such as the DX throttle cable?

Does anyone know where I can find a "how to" on cutting the shift linkage to fit?

Does anyone know where I can find a "how to" on the swap in general, that will give me pointers?

The Engine harness seemed to plug right into the body harness, does that mean the car has the correct body harness? Do I need to do any special wiring?

The only things I have left to do is figure out this throttle cable situation, and finish customizing the shift linkage.

since it plugged right in go ahead and try to start it. it should start without the throttle cable and shift linkage. then youll know if the wiring is done. looks like you probably got an LS motor with a modified DX harness already on it. where did you get the motor?

With something like shift linkage, its better to buy a new set....as far as wiring, if the car had a LS, then you should be fine.

I got the LS from a friend's 91 teg that he crashed. I want to start the car, but I am afraid it might be in gear, I need to idle it to fill the coolant.

You can make the tranny go into neutral. As long as you don't twist the thing the linkage attaches to you will see it has 3 settings, I believe pushed in all the way would be 4th gear, in the middle is Neutral and pulled out all the way is 3rd gear. So just make sure it is in the middle setting.
