Dear Honda
Dear Honda,
After I seriously overheated the engine for stupid amounts of time during a race, I found some strange metal pieces in my oil pan. Please don't leave extra pieces in my engine next time, okay?
Warren
p.s. Seriously, SGT and pretty much everyone else have no idea how I managed to do this. This should be pretty much impossible.

Marc, you cheated! Heh. Sorry to hear about your car
It doesn't look too bad though.
Yes, those are the oil squirter nozzles. They would also be my least bit of concern. Let's count the damage. Hole through the radiator, leading to blown headgasket, scored bearings with a touch of copper showing on #4, and the nozzles. Also had a bad axle boot earlier in the day.
It was a VERY busy weekend for my crew, lead by SGT. He stayed up all night saturday working on the motor. Pest came by and helped out too. Thanks! Anyhow, he basically replaced the headgasket, and cleaned up what was left of the bottom end. Oil shouldn't look like metallic paint
She purred like a kitten through just a few easy laps in practice. I railed on it for 2-3 fast laps in qualifying, and came in with a hint of rod knock. We fired it back up, and it was gone. Topped it off with 50 weight Redline, and crossed our fingers. It was down quite a bit of power, but she held together.
Out for a rebuild before the next HC race in August. We'll be back stronger than ever.
