First bike, i need help to pick one.
hi everyone, its my first post in this forum and i really really want to get a bike.
i have been looking at bikes for about a week now and i really like the R6. i don't want to go over a 600cc. i was wondering what you guys thought my first bike should be??? any recomendations or reveiws on bikes would help alot.

sorry, you sound nice enough. Do yourself a favor and learn to ride on a beater bike before you go and waste your money on an expensive conversation piece.

you definately need to learn on a smaller 250 before just jumping off to a 600..The 250 will allow you to learn the characteristics of bike handling etc... I learned on a 250 and bought a brand new 600 and lowsided on gravel. After learning on a 250 you should probably be fine with a 600. I don't regret buying a 600, just a 600 that i couldn't flat foot. Definately do not buy a brand new bike as a first bike, I lost 1800 dollars cause i lowsided mine and it only had 30 miles. My next purchase will be an older 600 or a RS250...

start on something small and stay with it. dont say "i've outgrowned it and want something bigger" unless you really are capable of taking the bike to its limits and be fine
