how much would it cost to add ps and ac?
okay, i have a b16a2 96 cx hatch that came with neither ps or ac. im really thinking about getting them put in. i understand that the motor is stronger without them (they rob power from the motor) but i dont drag nor autocross a lot anyways so i dont really care. so if i was to take it to maybe Honda, does any of you know what the cost might be to put either one in or maybe both. or does anyone know how much it would be if i went to a shop. i just want a general estimate. being that i have 0 parts and they have to order all the parts and labor. thanks

if you are serious about installing the power steering it's not that hard, IF the motor is out of the engine bay.
you ahve a big thick line running from the pump to the rack, and another line coming out of the rack, and another one going in. it look like the second two go out and in front to get cooled and then circulated back in.. i could be wrong on how they route once they come out of the rack, but you ahve to run a few lines taking it from a donor car which has power steering it'll work the best and install exactly like honda would recommend. Not hard to do as long as the motor is out, putting it in with the motor it's possible but be ready for working in a cramped area.
i'm actually ditchin' my power steering rack for a manual rack this saturday hopefully, i removed the lines and junk this last weeken and junked the parts. you could've had 'em for free for all i care, but gone now..
anyways. good luck.

If your CX never had PS, then you'd also need to change the entire steering rack. Just so you know.
There are so many lines and parts you'd need to make sure to get. Just thinking about it is giving me a headache.

adding power steering is the easy part, you need the lines, pump, belt, and rack
a/c is another story, many items to add and wire up
compressor, condensor, relays, climate controls, belt, high and low side hoses, r-134 freon, dryer etc....
good luck with that
