With the d16z6 motor it's not going to happen if you want reliability.

I say just get an H22 swap. With i/h/e and good driving you will most likely be looking @ anywhere between 13.8x-14.3x. Good luck with your project.

Also, you might want to read up on turbo ... just explore your options then decide.

All-motor?

Built 1.8L or H22A Type S or S Spec tuned with Hondata on big slicks.

This question is horrible. Too many variables.

with every possible mod, besides turbo or supercharger, going all motor I'd say you could hit mid to MAYBE low 14s, but I doubt your gonna break into the 13s without forced induction. good luck.

strip the interior and get slicks
Changeover to Non-vtec and carburate.
Sleeve up the block, add high compression pistons and stronger rods. Knife-edge the crank, blue-print the bottom end.
Find a nice cam, strengthen the valvetrain and get over-sized valves, port/polish the head.
And lots of tuning.

That all depends too man. Are you going to keep your stock d16z6? If you are going to swap it, what engine? What's your budget? Do you plan on internal work? Is this car a daily driver?

well, i was originally thinking of keeping stock engine and probably do internal work to it and possibly turbo it.. this car will be a daily driver too.. and my budget is kind of low, so i'm basically looking bang for the buck upgrades..

You have 2 routes to take on this quest:

1. Go all motor (Naturally Aspirated) H22 or B18C5
-High compression pistons
-Larger Pistons
-CAI
-Cams
-New valvetrain to handle the hjgh rpms
-Chipped ECU
-Etc

2. Turbo...an LS vtec set up (LS bottom end mixed with a c1 or b16a2 head) you would need new oil lined machined..and a corresponding ecu
-Low compression pistons
- Boost controller
- A decent turbo setup preferably with an intercooler
-Chipped ECU
-New valvetrain and cams
-Cam gears
-And the list goes on

You could run appx. 5psi safely on stock internals but if you wanna run high boost the engine mods are required

I personally went with all motor because its more reliable and its more of a challenge

No offense but if you're on a low budget then forget about a reliable turbo set-up and don't bother building the engine.

Why are you asking US when the question is what do YOU want?

First step:

SAVE MONEY.

There's no need to go into great detail about any other steps until you get number one taken care of.

I'm not being an *******, but honestly there are literally hundreds of topics that cover many various things that you can do to your car.

Use the search function and type in key words on what you're looking for.

Research is the key, and it cannot be obtained in one miracle topic handed to you on a silver platter because it has been covered hundreds upon hundreds of times.
