I see so many ridiculously fast cars here from California, but isn't the state really strict on emissions? How do you get to have such extravagent setups and be allowed to drive on public roads? We don't have emissions in MN, so I don't have this problem.

Either know someone, or spend a day taking off all of the turbo ****, passing it, then slapping it all back on. If you have internal work that wont pass, well you better have a motor to slap in for smog. Once every 2 years...not too bad.

You get your car to pass stock... mod the **** out of it for the next 2 years til smog time .. attempt to pass, if no pass, pay 500-600 to pay a ref off!
A friend of mine passed with 550 inj, fmic w/ 2.5 pipes, 16g, SAFC, 3" turboback w/ high flow cat (in a 1g dsm)... Sometimes you get lucky and have nice refs!

I have a spare motor we pass around our group of friends - swap smog and swap back. Its a huge pain in the butt. But once every two years isnt too bad.
Or you can pay somebody off. But thats like $200+ depending on the mood of the guy and how well you know him. How much is your time worth?

See thats not hard. The 16g looks like the stock turbo, the exhaust doesnt matter, injectors are invisible, and the cat is legal. The only really illegal thing in that setup is the FMIC and alot of people dont even notice them. (depends on the smog person)
But if you open up the hood in a honda and theres a huge *** garrett turbo hanging off the front of the motor with pretty piping everywhere...yeeaaahh thats a big warning sign for most people. Hondas arnt turbo from the factory.
