Default misshifted type s a week ago and now the check engine light is on!! whats your diagnosis?

I was driving our rsx last wednesday late at night after going to the mall with the wifey. And to make a long story short i was very tired and mishifted the car from 3rd gear to 2nd i didnt release the clutch all the way but enough that it tached out at nine grand for a sec.
I have always read people on the web misshift tere rsx's and never thought it would happen to me,anyways it was fine for a week and i even took a lil road trip with it the day after it happened i thought i was in the clear but now a cel and she's in limp mode.It still idles fine and hasnt burned any oil since it happened ,what do you guys think it is?a valve or two?

Yikes. In limp mode? Please describe. Not allowing high revs? CEL light flashing? Won't accelerate past 55 MPH? Did you get gas on your trip? (Yes, I'm serious about that question) Need more info. If it's OBD-II, then it's my friend. I'll be glad to help.

You've probably triggered the engine overspeed error code. You can reset it by pulling the "E" connector from your ecu. Its the leftmost white connector.

That's a posibility, but I'm kind of ruling that out since the CEL came on well after the over reving incident. I'm more concerned about random misfiring, initialization codes, etc. These are the things that will put the car into limp mode slightly after the fact.

take it to the acura dealer..dont mention ANYTHING about a mis-shift...and let them figure out what went wrong....the motor should be able to handle 9k easily...if something broke Acura should replace it under goodwill because it was probably a defective motor...
