tint is a good preventative measure, however you would have to use a pretty dark tint for it to have much affect and many areas including here, anything below 35-30% is illegal(which is not really that dark). plus the fact that it will make theives more likely to break your window to see if you have anything worth stealing. just another thing to think about.

Most states allow about 5% in the rear 3 windows, and is (for the states that allow it) about 30% for the front windows...I don't think if the sunshine state doesn't allow the windshield to be tinted, then no other state would either.

In Cali you can't tint the front 3 at all, not even a little bit. Some cars come with a "UV" protection layer on the front side windows, that is allowed as long as it was the factory that did it. I had a GS-R that had a 30% tint on the front side windows and got pulled over and ticketed for it. Its not even a fix it ticket anymore, its a $77.00 fine. I've heard this law from 5 different cops on top of that.

I just discovered this recently. Alcatara is just a brand name for microfiber. I don't know of a way to restore it, but you can get it re-upholstered with a matching microfibor cloth.

Wouldn't you rather pay the $77 fine than either pay to have your windows untinted, tested, then retinted or spend the time doing it yourself? I'd rather pay..
no idea on how to do the seats.. I remember seeing something about this a long time ago, and someone talked about redyeing them.. search?

Hmm... Does anyone know what the maximum tint percentage in Illinois is, or where I would be able to find it? I think PY R's with tinted windows look pretty bad assed, but the limo tint + OEM window tint on the front 3 looks pretty stupid in my opinion. Can you tint the windows all the way around with a really low percentage tint by law? And would this low percentage tint even look good?

Just think of a good story or something, a strong point of view or something and I think you should be able to have acura fix it... they will obviously fight you but it would help if you go to acura a lot for service and stuff. I notice if you are a decent customer they pull strings sometimes.
