Default Differences between b17 and b16a head

What are the major differences between the b17 and b16(1st gen) heads besides the cams? Anything else. Thanks for your support.

no sir, combustion chamber is same. Head is identical, same PR3 casting. B17 cams are identical to all 92+ b16 cams, but as you probably know, the 1st gen b16 cams are the worst.
good luck,
Jare

the 1st gen b16 cams are the worst.
good luck,
Hence the reason I bought some newer Si cams used ....... just in case I don't get the amount of money I need for the swap AND cam upgrades ......

$75, can't beat that for cams with only 10K miles on them!

first gen b16a cams are the worst? why's that? should i invest in some 2nd gen b16a cams (not 99-00 civic si cams)?

Yes sir, 1st gen B16A cams had less lift and duration than any of the other VTEC cams, they are smaller on the VTEC lobes as well as the primary lobes. The 1st gen B16 automatic cams are even worse than the manuals. And if you have a set of B16A1 cams, I would highly recommend a set of 92+ B16 cams, or even GSRs if you can find them. I sold the last set of GSR cams that I had for $75 with gears, they aren't that expensive.
later,
Jared
