My dad has a 2002 V6 Accord coupe. It has approx 30K miles. About a month or so ago it started ticking (in the head/valve cover area). It has had all services performed at the dealer on time. The dealer says that motor doesnt have adjustable valves... so now were stumped. Not even the dealer knows what it is.. any suggestions?? TIA

 

get the dealer to take the engine apart if the have to to fix it. the car is still under warrenty...keep detailed records of all visits so if the engine does fail at a later date, you have the proof needed to say look, you knew it was broken back at this time... if your dealer is an ****, get the local hinda rep involved....sounds like a sticky valve to me................

 

I have a 98 v6 coupe and mine has a ticking soung when its at idle. It sounds like it needs an oil change, but its been doing that since like 40k miles...I'm now at 112K it still ticks a little, but I havent had any problems whatsoever. BTW my 94 accord did the same thing...

 

Yea hes been raising hell every time hes gone back for something. They said next service they will look at it (45K miles). G-DASH, thats good to hear.. anyone else experiece this?
