USDM or JDM
My question is I want to swap an engine into my 92 civic LX and I want it to be a daily driver. But my question is do I have to go with USDM to pass smog or will a JDM pass smog. I live here in California so the pollution laws are pretty tough. Any help is appreciated.
Thank you very much.
Thank you very much.
Im pretty sure the JDM will pass smog, I think Japans smog laws are even more strict than here in the US. But I do remeber hearing something about you canoont put an engine older than the car in the car, you have to put one newer than the model year. I could be wrong though.
there are a lot of risk that you have to take when having a JDM. i have a JDM and still i have never confront any problems. with JDM its hard to licenses your engine for your car. another things is that with any swap motors, there will be problems with smog and check engine light. these are normal when going to a hybrid. but for more power go for JDM. for some reason JDM seems to have more power than the USDM. event though it is the same horse power.
