Any have any experience with any fiberglass rear hatches for Integras? I have afound a few places that have them, but know if I should get it or not.
Can anyone reccomend a good hatch that will fit well, and is good quality?
Thanks

im also planning on doin this to my integra later on down the road . how sturdy(SP) would the latch on the hatch be ? i was going to forget about the latch and just use the sliding hood pins to hold it down . how much is he FAL rear window ?that would look a lot cleaner then having a piece of lexan cut out for the window but im sure it would cost about 5 times more

I don't think they come with a latch. I believe you need to use external ones. There was a post not to long ago about the latches. It contained a few comments and pictures about them. I am using an extra hatch I have and gutting the hell out of it. It will retain the factory latch and look but the weight will be far below stock. As far as the Lexan goes. The FAL kit is $$$$....I was going to do the same but decided to make my own. Only cost me $100 bucks for 6sq ft. I even had enough left over to make a few extra things. All it takes is a sharp jigsaw blade and a little patience. I will post pics when I am done. Sorry for the long post..

I know someone who has 3 formed (molded from a stock glass) lexan rear glasses. They only need to be trimmed. I'll find out how much and how thick if anyone is interested.

My car leaves for Franks Custom Fiberglass this week. He will probably be doing a carbon hatch for me so once he gets a mold he can make as many as you guys need. Im sure lexan will go in easy even if he has to modify it a little. Frank can do anything, and i mean anything
I planned on going with the MB hatch.
Do you know if they make a fiberglass hood for a JDM front end. I have been looking all over, but cant find one.

FYI- the weight reduction isn't worth the price of a fiberglass hatch and FAL lexan window.
Figure $400 for a fiberglass hatch
Figure $350 for a FAL rear window
Figure $200 for painting, etc...
Total is $950 or so
Guess what the weight loss is.... 32lbs!!!
The fiberglass hatch is only 20lbs lighter then stock and the FAL rear window is only 12lbs lighter then stock. A friend has a fiberglass hatch w/ FAL window on his type R and is highly disappointed in the weight loss for the price. I would suggest just going with the MB hatch.
Also the fitment of my friends hatch sucks and it tends to crack after awhile from the stress.
Oh yeah and I have no idea as to how he got a fiberglass hatch.
