I'm in the market for a digital camera, but I have ZERO clue on which ones are good. People told me anything above 3.2 megapixels will come out really sharp and nice. Please give me some suggestions on brand, features, and other such things. My budget is from $0-$250, and this is for personal use and not for a business so it really doesn't need to be the top of the line. Thanks in advance.

Great choice, the G3 is an excellent camera.

You can usually find them in the low to mid $500's. I have a Canon G2, which is a 4.0 megapixel like the G3. Both very good cameras...

There was a recent thread on digital cameras in the appearance forum.

My experiences with Canons have been favorable. Nikon, fuji, Minolta and olympus also make great cameras. To find what suits your budget, go to dpreveiew.com.

you think thats a clean pic? that is nothing compared to the capability of the camera.

anyways, its not the camera that makes a clean pic, its the photographer. get a tripod and you'll be good to go

 

I use a Canon S30 and have no complaints. It's not the absolute best DigiCam, but it is more than adequate for my purposes.

 

whatever you do...DONT get the largan chameleon mega

yeah i'm still learning... and for what pic? i used a tripod for the night shot.

I got a Nikon 4500. I still don't know how to use it well. I can take alright pics, but nothing "dope". Here's a few samples...
