Default 1-1.5 inch drop (preferably 1.5)...people who have done it??

All,

For those with a 1-1.5 inch drop...do you have clearance issues? How are speedbumps for you? How does the front end take it, a lot of rubbing?

Will a 1.5 inch drop possitively or negatively affect the handling.. or should it not affect it at all? Any advice from people who have done it is greatly appreciated..

Thanks,
Jon

I had about a 1.25" drop for awhile. I had no rubbing or clearance issues whatsoever. And that's w/ 16 Prelude wheels on too. As far as handling, it felt a little better when cornering hard.

Haven't done it, but I would think it would negativly effect handling.

i have a 1.5 drop..no problems with clearance..never rubbed on a speed bump or anything else..it has more than enough clearance for the tires, the fenders sit like half an inch over the wheel...its the perfect drop...i have the H&R Sport Springs , i love how they feel around the turns and the road course. if you want a picture of what it looks like, drop me an e-mail and i'll take one.

However, Koni Yellows are a good addition to a Type R. If you Auto X and Drive on the Track.............your going to want to change to some adjustable shocks!

How is the Koni shock/spring combo? Anyone have experience with them on their R? Do the Koni's offer a 1.5 inch drop?

The thing with me is I would like to keep spring rates that are similar (not exactly the same) as the stock R's. I really dont want my ride to be too hard, but a nice little improvement in handling would be nice. I daily drive it, so the stock R is already pretty stiff, I just want a lower stance. Any recommomenations?

There is a guy in my area with a 2" drop on his GSR, he has 17" on the back and his stock 15" on the front. I dont know how it handles though.
