Default Mugen Thermostat

I got this off of King Motorsports:

"The use of a flow-control-type valve prevents hunting, thereby achieving rapid stabilization of the water temperature (the engine warms up within a short period)."

Does that actually mean that with the thermostat installed you dont have to drive your car around as long before getting on the gas? Does the car really warm up much faster?

Depends! If you do a lot of work to your car, you can do it with just a shop manual. Otherwise, the dealer will do it for you. The only bitch is draining the radiator and then filling it back up. I'd make this modification if you plan on running your car on the track or hard on the road. It really doesn't do anything for you on an Auto X course, except the car heats up fast before you have to run.

buying a mugen/spoon thermostat and cap would simply be a fool...you can get that 60 deg thermostat and 16lbs (1.3kg/cm3) cap for 1/10th of the price at the local parts store.

Does the engine feel any different with the Mugen Thermostat?

Running the engine a little cooler might reduce frictional losses or have other noticable effects. Anything?

My engine runs really good, sounds like it is hardly running when it is in neutral. No matter what people say, there is a good reason for having a low temp thermostat. I also bought Spoon magnetic drain plugs........I figure these things will help the life of my car in the long run! Engine runs cooler under normal driving conditions..

I thought it interesting that there is a permanent magnet already located in the tranny. I wonder if the tranny plug from spoon really does much. Now the engine plug.. that's different.

If you do a search under Spoon Drain plug there is a picture of how much the plug picked up...........I think your going to be a "SHOCKED".
