Noisy wheel bearings on 95 Civic
My daughter's 95 EX Civic sounds like really loud snow tires, very noticeable over 40. Not the tires, changed them with no effect. Checked and regreased rear wheel bearings but no change. Anyone sitting in the back seat says noise coming from the rear. Any idea on what's causing the nose?
Just because its sounds like its coming from the back doesn't really mean it is...accoustics can play games on the mind
The sound is probably wheel bearings or axles. One way you can test the axles is to jack up the front end and hit the gas - it you can still hear the noise it is probably the axles(since the front wheel bearings usually don't make noise unless there is weight on them). Or you can just take it to a shop and have them figure it out.
