yeah you can replace that easily.

That stud itself cant' be replaced but that whole balljoint can be replaced. It's only like $50 at the most probably cheaper.

Just above the boot you'll see a clip, remove the clip and just hammer it up and out. Hammer a new one down and put a new clip around it. It should come with a castle nut and new cotter pin along with the clip. Having a nut down there is NOT a good idea. You should have the castle nut and cotter pin there.

Um ya, I found out the hard way that cotter pins are a must LoL.

Lucky it was in a parking lot and not doing 100 down the freeway.

I cant put in the cotter pin since the bolt wont go all the way up. The stud is completely stripped and when i try to turn the bolt, the stud turns with it. So when i buy the "balljoint," it should come with the stud? What do I ask for? just a balljoint? I still have the castle nut...its on the fork right now for temporary since i was just taking pics for you guys to see. the castle nut is stripped though.

how does the stud on the ball joint turn? did you snap the stud or something? or maybe you just think its turning with the castle nut because when you turn the castle nut it doesnt go up anymore.

if thats the case, then use an impact wrench and impact the hell out of it until it goes up far enough to stick the cotter pin in. then atleast you can drive until you get another ball joint.

What I have done in the past when that has happened to me is A) Use big channel-lock plies and press the two pieces together (the lower control arm and the spindle) or B) put a jack under the lower control arm and jack it up as high as possible WITH the spring and shock connected to the lower control arm. Every time it worked like a charm.

I do not think so. Did you hit the threads with a hammer when trying to break the press fitting apart? If yes, then that is your problem and do what i said and see what happens.

EDIT: the next time that you do that again, I leave the nut on the stud (only a few threads) and that way you with not hit the threads and only the nut.

the ball joint from your car. when doing the 5 lug conversion, there is no need to swap ball joints.. as you noticed you probably used your stock one.

ask for the lower ball joint

the stud comes with it...

4lbs hammer makes removal and installation a snap.

you get everythign with it (new castle nut, new cotter pin, new snap ring)

i've replaced both of mine takes no time at all.

i tend to just push the stud towards discs to apply some pressure to on it, and it tends to thread on fine..

i'd replace the ball joint it's cake

any honda ball joint would probably work.

those are the only ball joints that can be replaced. the ball joints on the upper a arm requires you to replace the whole arm, the ball joint on the tie rod ends is the same deal. this is the only ball joint that can be replaced. i've bought ball joints for just civic and i'm running itr front lca's no problems at all.

You need a castle nut first, then you put the cotter pin thru the castle nut !!!!!
