I personally vote for NHRA even though IDRC have more local races here in So. Cal. Has IDRC and BATTLE fell off? Or is it me. I do not see a big buzz about these sanctions....What has happened to them? Did thier rules do them in? LOL
As of now it is NOPI, but that might change if I go up to Etown in October I think it is. Because I have heard so much about up there, just kinda far for me.
NOPI=NDRA - they treat the street classes as if they are more than just bracket racers like NHRa does. Brian

exactly! they dont give 2 ***** about street class racers.. but they still manage to have the highest payout and contingency postings.
the battle w/o a doubt is the most oriented towards street class racers. yet they are unable to attract the big name pro's so the series is suffering as a result.
but they still manage to put on a good show and i hope they can ride it out for as long as possible.
atleast the ndra HAS street classes. i think the idrc has their act together for the most part and could really benefit from running a good street program.

Couldnt have said it better Brian.

my crystal ball says IDRC and battle are struggling and may be on their way out. time will tell. battle however has always catered to the street cars and that would be my choice, for the time being. but you can't win a wally anywhere other than NHRA.....and that has some real meaning(to me at least).
Even tho i ( an others) may not like the NHRA the best, the NHRA body will be around in 10 years, as some of the others may be defunct by then.
NHRA..!!
all the way. The funny thing is Most of the NHRA if not all have had many years experencie with DRAG RACING(longer than we have been alive). If you go to a nopi or idrc or battle there are all fast and furious kids.
NHRA guys understand and know where we are all coming just becasue they ran V8 doesnt mean they cant relate.CAMP1320 works for the NHRA sportcompact series and never gets my parts on TIME, but is ok thats his life. I support real racers like that who put there life into racing ,when anything and evetything is about racing.JASON HUNT, JEN WILLAIMS,SAV LEONE,ALOT OF LOCAL GUYS who do this for fun. The other guys are there just to please people to get the crowd. The thing with NHRA is they dont change rules in the middle of the season to please people they make the rules and stick with it.IF you cant hang with tthe big boys than i guess you belong with the other guys. And dont says we dont have corporate sponsors cus the makes metion above dont have them and seem to be in the mix.
NHRA without a doubt is the BEST. We all know they got some minor things to change and adjust well maybe alot???, but besides for that they got TV COVERAGE and a WALLY
Real racers dont race for the $$$$$. We have all spent numorus hours and ALOT of $$$$$, your not the only one dude. The BS is im going to the other guys for the $$$$ if your a real racer $$$ isnt an MAJOR issuse. Of course its great becasue i love money myself but only the real Racers will understand what racings about. Not the people who follow racing as a trend.
does anyone know how and why NHRA first started?? im curious to know.?

your crystal ball sucks.
your crystal ball sucks.
I WOULD TO SAY NDRA(NOPI) THEY PUT ON THE BEST FOR THE RACE TO THE AWARDS,THEY DO HAVE TV COVERAGE AND THEY PAY THE BEST WHICH TO US LOW BUDGET REAL RACERS MEANS A LOT!ALSO THE WALLY THAT THE NHRA GIVES TO THE IMPORT IS NOT THE SAME AS THE DOMESTIC IT IS SMALLER????
I agree with a lot of what you say, but I wouldn't be so harsh on the NHRA. In the end, unless you have an endowment, money plays a role in every business - and that's what we're talking about here.
I do agree though that the people in charge at the NHRA sport compact series aren't exactly the folks that built import drag racing into something that the NHRA deemed worthy of pursuing a few years ago. A lot of credit has to go to Frank Choi at Battle for creating a venue for import enthusiasts long ago. But the NHRA is going to put people in charge that they feel are going to help the sport compact series meet the goals they set, and those goals are not necessarily those of the old schoolers. But in the end, I'm 95% sure that it will be the NHRA setting the course in this market.
Now, I'll turn off the politically correct filter and say that I still lament the NHRA's approach to sport compact drag racing. Something has been lost along the way. I don't know that any other organization (or any of us, put in charge) would have done any better. But at a minimum, at least organizations like NOPI have been supporting and working with the import community for a lot longer, and seem to have a better understanding of how it works and what the community wants.
I think the IDRC had a chance to be the "sport compact IHRA" of the scene, but they really blew things last year. Combined with NOPI's full court press, they're going to have a tough time recovering. I'm not really sure what Frank's goals with Battle are. Its kind of hard to stay static in business. Usually its grow or die, but he may be able to hold with a couple signature events each year (think Indy 500 before IRL, on a much smaller scale). You might want to read Mike Ferrera's column in the latest issue of Drag Sport. I'll withold my opinion on it for now, but I do think it'll give you a little insight into the minds of some (at least one) of the organizational players on the scene.

where are you getting your info from? so your saying anyone who signs a deal and gets money isnt a real racer? guess we should call Kenny Tran, bullish, steph, myles, the kubos, Abel, JoJo up and tell them the bad news.
money plays a huge part in racing, thats why i dont have an F1 team. how often did you see the west coast guys out east when all they had was parts sponsorships?and incase you havent figures it out by now my choice is the NDRA
Im sorry guys .. for the poor explaintion. I was talking about the event staff that work there.THe guys who work the events. They dont need to be there they go cus they want to. They dont get paid extra to be at the events.
Levon doesnt have a major sponsor, He couldnt afford to fly all of his crew out to the englishtown race when he crashed.LESLI DUSRT all motor 10sec crx DOES NOT HAVE ANY SPOSNORS WHO GIVE HER MONEY..!!!!!!!!!!!!! ans hse is east coast all year. Sav leone didnt have a major sponser to get out last year. Eric rel roserilo didnt have a major sponsor but hit all the west coast tracks and texas.
TV coverage is a high light.. that make the sponsors look good and sometimes thats how you pic up sponsers isnt it..?
Now you guys are putting words in my mouth.i didnt use anyone names.May be you should cal them and ask them what they were doing before PRo drag racing.Kenny, lisa, steph, abel, tony fuchs, eddie bello, vinny ten,.WERE ALL STREET RACING for what t??? the the fame and respect and the joy of the sport , not for $$$$$..Respect to them for making it this far and they are gettting something back now. Its great they kept going and got picked up by big sponsors.
Money plays a very big roll, but you dont need too much. Its called GREED AND LUXARY. Step hasa PRO RWD and doesnt have a RIGG. You dont need a reagade to race with one race car.
im talking about the pay out. SO if you have and $250,000 sponosr a year and more than one of them and want to go to a NOPI race to win a extra $500 insted of the TV coverage ,your on CRACK.
in case you havent figured it out NHRA is my number one and only choice.!

alright you dont know who i am because im using my friends account, but i opperate a pro team out of my own pocket and make every NDRA race. the reason we race with them is because they listen and ask us questions about rules and where we would like to see the sport go. NHRA on the other hand says these are the rules and even though we dont know why we made them this way you have to live with them. the 2 guys i was talking about above are Paul and Mike. if you are a real racer youll remember them from the old NIRA series. you remember the series that had all the support from the racers and nhra was throwing out double and triple point events to try to get the racers, and when that didnt work they just bought NIRA and took there whole rule structure and threw it out the window without any explination.
and to correct you steph dosnt own the rwd car. AEM owns steph just drives it.
and as for your whole tv coverage thing you are aware that NOPI tunervision covers the events and gets about double the ratings of the nhra coverage. so not only do you get the extra $500 but about twice as many people see you on tv
have a good day im on my way to e-town
