Will low 12's be the worlds quickest NA FWD STREET car
Will a low 12 second pass give someone bragging rights to having the worlds fastest all motor front wheel drive STREET car? I'm talking on STREET LEGAL TYRES (eg Drag Radials). I know there have been high 11 street cars but I believe that they were all done on slicks.
Dave Daniels, had went 12.7's@110 on drag radial with stock bore gsr in a cx hatch, I went 12.8@109 in my crx all motor . I am sure there are some people on this board that have better those times for sure. Jason

i have yet to see anyone prove they have been low 12's in a street car(na) on street tires. i would say anything under 12.5 and your there. its not that hard....just no one has really tried that much. those kids in cali will say they are faster, but thats street racing and the only way to know for sure what your car runs is by going to the track. good luck.
Thanx Jinx. I've just made some headers and gone up in TB size. Hopefully that'll get me a bit closer to 110mph. I also borrowed the only set of DR's in the country to try and get some of my traction back that the B20VTEC took out of my car
There was an event at Rockingham NC where there were 2 very fast street cars on drag radials. Butch (on the board as "Butch") ran a 12.56 in a 96 hatch with a built B20. Then there was a red 92-95 hatch built 1.8 that ran a low 12.4 on drag radials. Both were street cars on drag radials. I am sure that 11.99 is coming...

gotta agress with you jinx, but Honestly we do have some people here in cali who will not run at the tracks that might have some low 12sec street cars on drag raidals

Depends what you class as a street car what kind of interior are we talking about ? Full bodied still having bumper supports and all that jazz?
id run on drag radials just to see what my "bragging rights" times are.. but really i dont think its worth my time. why not use what hooks the best? and from what ive heard.. the "cali boys" use slicks on the street!
and on top of that my car is HEAVY... i would HOPE someone with a 300lb lighter hatchy could show me up.

not worth my time as in when i go the track all the other cars in my class are on slicks. why would i buy, mount, balance, install, and run on tires that i would struggle to qualify on???
you come put em on my car and ill run em for ya? put up or shut up.

lows 12s would be ab awesome time on some drag radials. braggin rights are braggin rights. some ppl respect street tires more then times on slicks......
The fastest NA street car in Australia is 13.32? There is a guy on here running mid-high 13's with just intake and header on his type r.
This is all pointless. What exactly is a "street" car. Street legal? Emissions legal? In street trim or is gutting allowed? Is the sole qualification that it be driven on the street? Someone needs to list what constitutes a "street car." Pretty nebulous without.

we consider street cars, cars that are legal for street class competetion in the recognized sanctioning bodies.
street cars generally have:
All their glass as opposed to lexan
A factory dash as opposed to a sheetmetal or other lightweight dah
all factory body components, nothing hacked up
we generally dont run with a rear interior, but everything from the front seats forward remains in the car.
i still consider my car a street car b.c all i have to do to run it on the street is throw an exhaust on there.
