Do our R's have clear coat on the paint?
I dont think it does, but I am not positive. I am looking at getting Zaino Bros. car wax and what not and need to know if there is a clear coat or not. Also have any of you used Zaino Bros. products before? The pictures on there website look great. Thanks for the help.

R's do have a clear coat. I'd use something that you know works, before putting a products on that you've never seen. .02$
Yea, I have allready waxed it once, but from what I heard the Zaino stuff is bad *** and super deep. I just need to know if there is a clear coat or not because they have two different products, one for clear and one for non clear. Now that you said there is clear I remember seeing some where on the car that they did not put clear (I think it was under the hatch or something.) Thanks for the help.

I've been using it for over a year. (the one for clearcoat) It shines just as well as the others and lasts a lot longer. Maybe these threads will help.

zaino rocks.
i've only done my car completely once. that includes claybar, pre-polish polish, swirl remover, and gloss enhancer. it took forever, but it was well worth it. car looked great.

I've been using Zymol on all my cars for years and it looks terrific, lasts a long time.
I've read those tests and I don't believe them. Zaino is a chemical, like a solvent (ask them what's in it and you'll see that no one gives you an answer). I don't want to put on anything that's going to make my car shiny in the short term but destroy the finish in the long term. That's why I use Zymol.
Anyone who's seen my car at our Chicago-area meets can tell you how good it looks.

I have to say nsxtcjr's car does always look nice and shiney
I would use whatever you feel works best, it's really a personal preference.
I like to use Klasse All-in-One Wax (it's a wax, and a cleaner wax). Then I top that off with Klasse sealent glaze to keep the car shiney all the time. Works really well.

I also use Klasse works very well and it lasts a long time, it also has a UV protectant in it, so it helps prevent fading. i think zainos has a UV protectant in it too. From what i have read the PY 01 R's DO NOT have a clearcoat. Check this thread https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=47367
When my rear end was repainted the body shop told me that the R DID NOT have a clear coat on it. Only where they repainted it does it have a clear coat.
DO NOT USE "Cleaner-Wax" products. How do you figure that they clean and wax at the same time??? I personally us the following products when I wax.
1. One Grand Blitz Wash
2. Zymol HD Cleaner
3. Meguiar's Polymer Seal
4. One Grand Blitz Wax
I used to use Meguiar's "Yellow" carnuba wax and it was alright, but OGBW is substantially better. The difference is amazing. Also, on black cars I've used Eagle Teflon "wax"... but they wear out too quickly.

Zymol is EXCELLENT for dark colored cars; but since I like to try new things, I'm gonna try some Zainos. My neighbors use them for their ZO6 and CL-S, and their cars look amazing! I really don't think that our cars have a clear coat. The paint scratches easily; especially for dark cars where it is noticable.
