Default Dupli-Color spray paint, use rubbing compound or clear coat?

Just did some touching up on my car with Dupli-color's import auto spray, and it's dull as hell... It doesn't have the "cc" after the color name, so it doesn't need a clear coat over it according to the manufacturer. My question is, should I use clear coat over it anyway, or just use rubbing compound to make it nice and shiny?
