Default MY OWN CAI DESIGN "LOOK"!!!!

Thought I'd share with all of you what I have just done.
I made a home-made cold air extension from the stock resonator and box assembly.
Please have a look at the pics. Lemme know what you think and if any of you have tried doing the same.

The duct tape makes it look ghetto fabulous!!! Cant see it when its mounted anyways, right? So its all good. I did that a while ago also, but i didnt use duct tape to hold the piping on. Instead i drilled two holes and screwed the piping onto the filter box. It works alrigt i guess......not as good as an AEM CAI though.

Yea, I've done the same. For me, I didnt even have to put tape around the pipe. It stays put through all my driving I like it!

It looks like you *sawed* through the pipe, right? What I did was heated a knife until it was red hot, and then sliced that baby. It went thorugh like a *hot* knife through butter

I think its fine though, I mean by doing it this way and adding the K&N RU 3130 filter afterwards makes for a TERRIFIC home made custom cold-air extension.

Should work just as good as a AEM CAI though, don't you think guys??

Not bad...I thought about doing something similar. It'll work more like the Icebox than AEM.

I did something like that too, except I didn't cut the pipe off. I cut open the white resonator box and got the entire tube out. Also, I left the back side of the white resonator box attached to the piping so that I could use the 3 stock bolts positions to hold the pipe in place. That way I didn't need to use duct tape to hold the piping to the filter box.
