Leave it. The link on the other thread crashes my IE bigtime when I try to use it.

This will give JV a chance to not DNF. But then this will hurt Button's efforts.

It's bad for a lot of people, especially Honda!!! If nobody noticed, BAR is up to 5th in the constructor's standings - that means a lot more TV money for them next year. Button is also tied for 9th in the driver's standings, and looking to move up. I could care less about Villeneuve at this point, he's a waste of space. You can't win if you don't even have your cars....

Looks like bullshit political wrangling to gain control of the team.
Still, not a good idea to **** off your sponsors.

OT for a BAR thread, but did anyone read the other story on the page Matt submitted? About Williams being sponsored by Budweiser? WTF? Kinda seems like F1 is looking for more American business, and maybe the future collaboration of F1 and CART that has been more than rumored lately is truly on its way.

Didn't say it was bad. But who in Europe drinks Budweiser?

I agree, big money in any level of racing that promotes the sport and may someday allow some to trickle down to us, either in the way of more tracks to play on, or more amatuer sponsorships, etc, can never be bad. Also nice to see Budweiser sponsor a car that turns right

Probably just a political move against Budweiser-Budvar, a Czech beer company that has disputed the "budweiser" name forever.

Dude, all my friends from Germany LOVE Bud! They admit it's not the best beer but it's American...they love Harleys over there too. We all want what we can't have or what is different from what we have. (Er, well, I don't know of any Japanese dudes looking for a USDM DC5 intake manifold. )

I think the French impounded the cars just cuz it says british AMERICAN racing. Would someone just level that country already.

At least they lucked out in pre-qualifying (like everyone else in the 2nd half of the session). They had pole for about 3 minutes.

And that's only because everyone else was slower on the wet circuit!

Evidence? If you want to discuss the French-American situation then go to the General Discussion forum, otherwise keep stupid-*** comments like that to yourself.

Yeah! Alright! Bomb 'em!

Edit: I apologize for getting off-topic, but I don't feel this is the appropriate place for a topic like this to be bastardized.

lol GSspeedR, it's not worth stressing out over such things. Besides wearing a T shirt saying "I am an idiot", such comments (in general) like those you were referring to are about the clearest way for someone to show their stupidity for everyone else to see. Really!

Ok, I'm done posting my share of "RR/Autox" related comments to this thread.

carlos: please do. There have been huge debates over such issues (bomb France, and the Iraqi situation in general) and I don't feel it's fair to place your opinion here where it won't receive a response.

Hracer: deal.

I'm done, pardon the interruption, back to BAR.

sweet now I'm an idiot because I said let's bomb the french and kill iraq! you must be really really good at reading between the lines because i said two words in my post. two words. yet somehow you managed to get that I hate the french and I want to blow them off the face of the earth.

after reading the article, I decided to express my opinion on how poorly I thought the situation was handled by the French police. I'm sorry that I was lazy and only wrote "******* french" instead of giving you a 5 page essay complete with a table of contents and a bibliography.

to all the idiots out there

'cause apparently I'm one of them

Carl: speaking of reading between the lines...I didn't mention anything about your intelligence level. You made a political statement and so did I. This is not the place for either of them.

that was just a general rebuttal....someone else made a shot at my intellectual integrity.

and if this is not the place for a comment on how poorly I believe a situation was handled that does have a tangible interest to those of us in this forum then why was it originally posted here. I think it's ridiculous for me to have to read about it here and then go post my reply in the general discussion.

and please please don't forget that opinions are like ********, everybody has one, and if you can't accept that some people's opinions will be different than yours, maybe holding your tongue all together would be the more appropriate course of action?

&lt;-----Carl, who would rather type in key-board slang, but apparently it leads to people getting mad at and judging him

My friend, it's you who is really good at reading between the lines. I never made any references to you or any one in particular. Not only that, but I don't know you so I'm not entitled to label you anything. All I said referred to the comments posted and I have every right to do that, just as you have to post them. Is there something wrong with that?

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by carl_aka_carlos &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">sweet now I'm an idiot because I said let's bomb the french and kill iraq!</TD></TR></TABLE>
And not to further get off topic, but read this line again and tell me how else you would classify such a statement? I usually don't waste my time noticing other such intelligent remarks out there in general, but I couldn't help it now since for some reason the intelligence made it to this thread. And please try not to have a completely bad day just because some people don't share the same sense of humor/vision as you. I'm done wasting time with this thread.

It was really good to see BAR back on track!
