Default hi my name is newbie. and i tried to search.

I am sure there are some good audio guys in here. i myself am not an audio guy.
heres what i have, a 91 CRX which as u may or may not know has four stock spots for 6.5" speakers(i think). i want a system that sounds good only using those four speakers. i don't want a sub. i want as much bass and just all around sound that i can get out of those four. well maybe some tweeters or maybe placing some speakers some where else but no subs... i am trying hard to keep weight down in this car. i know pretty much jack about car audio so if u guys could make some suggestions that would be great. i know enough to wire up the stuff by myself i think so i don't want to go paying a shop to set this up for me, plus i don't know any shops around here that i trust. also , suggestions on a good alarm for my car would be great to.
thanks a ton ahead of time
!!!

Do you want an amp?
One reasonable sized 4 channel amp running 4 well mounted speakers would sound great without a lot of weight.

yes i was planning on a 4 channel amp. i think my budget is somewhere around 1000. i used to have a four channel amp running 4 speakers in another car i had, and it sounded like ***. Lots of high end but no bass, really looking for someone that can tell me how to get a fuller more well balanced sound.

That just means it wasn't set up properly.
Go around some audio shops and listen to as many speakers as possible till you find something you like. Then get a decent 4 channel amp like an Alpine F407 or bigger. Most amps now come with enough crossovers and settings that they can be tuned to all people's preferences.
