pressed ARP rod bolts?

Default pressed ARP rod bolts?



a local shop told me that you have to press these to install them correctly. is anyone familiar with this. i need to before i put together my new ls/vtec.

the pins that go into the piston heads have to be machined if they're OEM.....theyre a little too long and have to be shortened....

This means that the piston pins are a press fit to the rods. So the rods should be heated so they can be pushed through the small ends of the rods. Just have you machine shop do this and let your worries be gone.

i think he was asking about the rod bolts, not the piston rod! i would also like to know, if you can just screw them in?

I did them by hand and haven't had any problems. Its a good idea to get the rods resized once you do that though.

yes u have to have them pressed in if u have ls rods.
i paid my local machine shop to do it.

how much does something like that cost. i want to have a good idea so i dont get ripped off by someone. I am just putting on pr3 pistons on ls rods and arp rod bolts in the rods. rough estimate?
