I'm looking for a set of locking lug nuts for my wheels. Anybody have any suggestions on a good set? Where can I get them?
Color is not important (but I would prefer silver, red or black)...security and durability is the main priority as I rotate my tires often (swapping winter/summer wheels).
Thanks.

I'm in the same predicament as well, but I have just recently had a problem w/ the Kyokugen lug nuts...if you are going to be frequently changing your wheels, don't buy these....don't seem to be too durable.
I think I am going to go w/ the Mugen lug nuts in black...$89/set but look to be durable too...

took my car to get tires mounted, they decided they wanted to use an air gun and strip my lock...not to mention put the damn things on tight...
had to hammer on a socket to each lug and strip it off the get them off again

I have heard that the Duraluminum lightweight lugs (volk, spoon etc) are meant to be left on the car, so if you change wheels alot (autocross, track etc), you might want to just get some more standard lugs (again, just what' i've heard, no firsthand experience). I do have the Kyokugens, which are steel rather than aluminum, and I have had no problems with them over the past few months, plus I have taken them off and put them back on at least 5 times already. If you let someone airgun any lighweight lug on (hell, any lug at all) expect to have problems, as typer98 did. But if you hand-torque as you're supposed to, the Kyokugens should do you well. I'll post an update if these fail me over the summer at any time.
Hey Aleph,
Let me know if you have any problems w/ those Kugens....
I have a spare set coming, and I was hesitant to put them on my R.
I notice you are in PA.... you ever come to NY at all?

When's the last time you've heard about someone's car being put on blocks? If someone's going to steal rims they might as well steal the whole car. It's not hard at all to remove lock nuts anyway as typer98 mentioned. I've done the same thing when I couldn't find my key. Hell, hammering a socket on is easier than using the key!
Unless there's a local problem with wheels getting stolen I wouldn't bother.

I think they're pretty cool, and they have the added bonus of being very light, and black
I'll post if i have any problems, but they seem fine to me, I don't anticipate anything happening to them.
And sorry Sinitron, NY is a decent haul from Pittsburgh, can't say i've ever been through the state even, except once last year in my GS-R on the way to Niagara Falls. Been to NYC once, but again, back a couple years ago, in my GS-R. I don't think my R will ever see NYC. What part of New York is your town in? (not even gonna try to spell pokipsie.)
