I need some feed back for my exhaust setup at the track, I want to run the car with the header only, is this beneficial or not? How will my exhaust valves react to no backpressure? Or is there enough backpressure through the header itself? The collector is 2.5" on a b16a2, LSD with no interals, also has anyone run 55 shot zex with a chipped p28 nitrous program? How did the motor handle the shot? Any info would be great, thanks boys......

 

I have run plenty of times with open header/exhaust manifold.

The smaller outlet(2.5 in your case), weakens your lower end a lot...but you'll notice a difference in the upper RPM range. Make sure it's legal at your track before doing so

And about the shot....I always say it's ok to run less than 1/2 of the power you're putting to the ground, given the setup is tuned with nitrous. You;'ll be safe with a 55 shot...just tune engine accordingly

haven't run a new setup yet.

last summer with bone stock Z6 with exhaust and p&p head, ran a 15.5 with leaky head gasket.

Open header with same setup, I beat my buddies Del Sol VTEC by about a car on the street legal drags, and he ran a 15.2 earlier that same day

I'm hoping for high 13's on new setup and slicks
