Default hey all

hey guys, well, i'm 15 and am about to recieve my dad's little toy, his honda del sol. it's a stick, and i really want an automatic, cause i don't seem to have too good of a feel with the clutch. i was looking through the paper, and found a 01 mustang with 45,000 miles on it, for $8,990, and i don't know whether i should ask my dad to sell the del sol, and check this out, cause it's an automatic, or stick with the del sol. anyways, i just wanted to really ask yall, do yall really believe that once you're got the whole stick thing down, it's a lot more fun than an auto, or not as fun as people say. oh ya, i live in houston, so there's a lot of stop and go traffic, just though i'd throw that one out.
thanks anyways,
i hope to talk to you guys later

i say keep the del slow. its lotsa fun to fix up and a stick really isnt bad at all. it will become as natural as walking. plus the auto mustang will be hella slow.

Learn how to drive a stick. You will never know how to drive till you learn with a stick.

Don't go for the mustang. Think about it, do you really want a car that costs $20k+ new and when it's 2 years old it's already 50% cheaper?

Hondas are the easiest cars in the world to learn on. Take 2 weeks & you'll have it down good. Trust me, you'll enjoy it in the end. My first car, I wanted an automatic. Ended up getting a good deal on a manual lude. 5 cars later, I've never owned an automatic...

ya, i already know how to drive a stick, but i'm so bad with the clutch, the car always ends up bouncing. anyways, i've thought about what yall said, great comment, fix or repair daily, haha. but, then i thought, mitsubishi eclipse. anyways, i don't care about the eclipse, i'm fine with the del sol, but do yall have any tricks on being more smooth with the clutch. i don't know when to use it and when not to. i almost messed up the gearbox from going from 3rd to 1st while it was going. anyways, if yall have any tips, it would be great.

rev the car up to maybe like, 2 or 3 and let the clutch out slow to go forward. when the clutch is all the way out, press the gas. thats how i learned

with some practice...it'll be easier than breathing

ok, this question's a little less important, but do yall think i should modify it at all. i've got the stock engine, ya, it's a p.o.s, but because the car is so light weight, it actually feels like about 140hp. anyways, thanks a lot you guys, and if yall would like, please post some pics, so i can get some mod ideas. i've been looking at body kits, for fun, but they're expensive, and we have speed bumps here, so it would get messed up, so that's a no, but, another problem i have, the del sol is so low to the ground, and it rains quite a bit here, should i be worried?? all i need it water to be coming in from the doors, then i'll be one hell of a happy camper. and oh ya, i'm getting the clutch thing down, thanks a lot yall. sorry, one more thing, when i'm at a stoplight, that's my biggest problem, it takes me so long to get the clutch out the right amount, any tricks for that??

learning stick is sooo easy. basically when u let out the clutch pedal and u feel the clutch grab a little, that is when u should rev it to about 2k rpms. and when u feel it grab completely give it a lil more gas.

and as for the body kits, if you're going to get a body kit atleast find a clean looking one. as for the pictures, http://www.teamdelsol.com, has a picture gallery.
