Hey Guys,

In a 97 + Lude, is it worth getting an intake in terms of real world power that I will feel? Some say, keep the air box stock due to its efficieny in low and mid range torque. If it does make sense to get an intake for this car, what kind should be bought; CAI or RAI. IF there are power gains with either, please specify which one you are refering to and at what rmp will the power be felt or lost?

Another thing, is it worth to just get an K&N filter and drop it, in the stock airbox to replace the oem paper filter?

factory airboxes are always restrictive, and i believe you will get more power out of a CAI, which usually come with K&N filters, but dropping just a filter in wont give u much for gains......

and then again u could always "modify" the airbox and cut the resonators off, it'd give u a few ponies and add a growl to the car when u step on it...

 

a cai will probably give you 4-8 hp(it can give you more if it's a nice cool day) and you most likely won't FEEL anything. it will make it louder but not to ridiculous. and for those that say don't get a cai because of rain, don't pay too much attention. i have one and it had rained more this year(+8 in) than in any year that i can remember. just don't drive through real deep puddles, and if you do don't floor it, and you will be ok.
