anybody have some tips or knowledge of how to do this?

 

Go through the speaker hole. Also use a round cutting type thing to make holes as small as possible where it will pass through.

 

Yup, I just had a small 1.5 inch door hole maker. I guestimated where the bar would go through and cut into the mother. It worked pretty good. Doesnt look half that bad. People think it came stock like that so I guess I did an alright job.
