Default Stupid fuel filter question.

I unhooked my top fuel line to the fuel filter trying to get a little gas into a jar to check for water (bad gas). Anyway when I screwed it back in it leaks now when the car is running. Thankfully I caught it quickly. I'm guessing the leak is because they are crush washers and can only be used once?

So many people reuse their crush washers many times... but for the cost of them, it's not worth it. Replace them and try it again. I've seen many of those crush washers only last once. Good luck.

Very true. Crush washers are designed to be single use items. You can reuse them on the oil pan drain bolt if you want to (I always change mine), but where as the fuel lines see more pressure you got leaks.

You might want to check and make sure everything is tight too.

Good luck
