my boys wants to buy a 91 b18a block today . but the guys sellin the block lost the papers, but i was think that it wont matter cause 91S dont have VIN# anyways.. so my question is do 90 -93 teg motors have VIN#

 

come on guy, i have searched but alot of people say tha vins didnt start till 96 but the also say that they arent a 100% sure either

 

heres what Bseries (1:53 PM 7/2/2003): told me..... if it were me I would have that motor checked to see if it is stolen. i think the front of the block has serial #'s on it to check to see if it is legit if not have the seller give a bill of sale like selling a car. have him give his home phone and all info. if he does not want to then do not buy as he has something to hide. your buddy has to keep the copy of the bill of sale in the car to show a cop in case he gets pulled over that he bought the motor from someone
