Default rsx hid question

is it possible to get hid's as an option with an rsx? if so does anyone know how much it would cost?

i dont think you can over here in the states (if thats where you reside). you have a couple of options w/ the aftermarket though. one buy an HID kit and install it or two get a JDM HID set. they sell on ebay for bout 800.00 USD

maybe you can somehow cut the deal w/ honda NOT to put headlights onto your USDM..haha. and then order from japan the JDM one. i really doubt that US dealers would order JDM lights though....the conversion to HID isnt that bad either...good luck though

Hid's are not an option here in the states. I really wish they were because i would be all over them. But you can either get some JDM's or you can get a pair from aftermarket places like xenondepot.com. I have never even really seen a picture of the JDM hid's by chance could someone post up a picture?

Bet you guys don't know who makes the Ballasts for Honda do ya!

It's Mitsubishi !!!!!!!!!!! (Not to be confused with mitsuba)

Underneath the S2K headlamp you will see the shocking truth.

At least thats what I saw. Maybe you can help me confirm that.

I don't see the need of having your headlights being Jdm OEM. I'm sure the philips ones work just as fine. Whatver floats your boat though.

Why is it "riddiculous" ?

Mitsubishi makes excellent electrical components & products.

Should Honda have developed their own proprietary HID system for their cars ?

I'll try to get pics of one of the ballasts. I only say it like I see it. It would be kind of rediculous to lie about something that stupid. I just thought it was interesting. I couldn't believe it myself when I first saw it. I will note this, the car I worked on was involved in a front end collision. Soo, the body shop could have used an aftermarket subletted part that was manufactured or re-manufactured by Mitsubishi. But, it really isn't that far fetched when you consider that Honda uses parts from Hitachi, BASF, TEC, etc. Just trying to present a little more evidence to back up what I saw.

uh brighter? phillips and Hella provide oem for most of japanese and german cars.
as long as you get 4800k, it will be an exact oem match. THe last generation integra, dc2r had phillips ballast on its HIDs. so stop complaining about what u cant get, either buy new oem jdm honda or buy phillips HID kit for ur rsx. oh wait, seeing as youre asking about buying an rsx with hid, im gonna assume u dont even have one. ahaha. one.

if ur looking into getting the real JDM headlights too might as well get the HID ones, ittle save u the trouble of having to get HID's seperately later on aftermarket

dont forget about the focus, STI, EVO, just about every model in the nissan lineup, etc.

Honda does a real good job at making the US feel like we are getting the short end of the stick.

I agree. Honda does send some water down stuff overseas. BTW, the ballasts for the S2000's are made by Mitsubishi. I just looked it up on the Honda parts catalog at my dealership.
