What to launch a Prelude at.
Well, I have a stock prelude 97 vtec. I'm going to be going to the track next week and I had a few questions. What rpm should I launch the car at? Should I touch the tire pressure? What times should I be expecting to run? TIA
Everyone is different but here's what I do for reference.
2001 Prelude SH
I/E/P 50 Shot Wet and BFG Drag Radials
FRONT AIR 16lbs
REAR AIR 45 LBs.
Launch 3500 RPMS (stock Clutch)
Shift 8,000
runs me a best of 13.78 @ 98.82 (ave. 13.8's) w/ 1.9** 60's

The wheels are 16inch(stock) and tires are the stock also. So I should be shifting a 8,000rmp? The car is basicaly stock except for a short ram intake.

get rid of the short ram intake. Put the stock airbox back on without the resonator until you can get a CAI.
Its been shown several times that a short ram intake will actually slow you down in a 5th gen prelude
