well? does anyone need a 5000 watt amp? cause i got one you can buy. never used, still in box. i dont know the details of this amp except its made by earthquake and it retails for like $2500 and its still worth that much. i know this should probably be posted in the best buys forum, but what the hell. most of you people here are interested in audio more than security, and the best buys forum is mostly performance parts. anyway, this amp weighs something close to 40 lbs and is made by the elite audio company earthquake who has just developed a 6000 watt amp that i think is now the king of amps. ill be selling this amp for under $2000; dont know how much under. i just need to sell it cause its taking up needed space and i need engine work done; yipee. just give me an emailing at hites_05@hotmail.com actually i think i could arange a group buy of 3 of these for around $500 under list price; maybe more. just get 3 people together who want one of these bad boys, email me, and ill see what i can do. well? do you need a 5000 watt amp?
The JBL/Crown amp is the 6000 watt king
Free bump for you though. Posting part numbers and more specific information may help you though.

how much does that 6000 watt monster cost brand new? i know i can get a brand new 5000 watt earthquake for a better watt per $ than that 6000 watt jbl/crown, and it wouldnt be some measly $0.01 difference; so if youre interested give me an email at hites_05@hotmail.com ive got one still in box that i was planning on installing, but changed my mind; and i can get 3 more for a good deal on a group buy.
Your numbers don't seem to match up at all....you should post the model numbers to clear things up.
Earthquake makes the following amps currently:
PH-D - claims a max output of 1500W and it's 1000W x 1 at 4 ohm mono - MSRP=702
PH-D2 (aka "the shredder") - claims a max output of 3000W and it's 2000W x 1 at 4 ohm mono - MSRP=1098
Then they have the following in "limited quantities"
PH-D3 (aka "the destroyer") - claims an RMS output of 6000W with an MSRP of 2700.
There's also a mention of a PH-D4, but there is no info on their site.

So which ones do you have?

now that you mention it, something isnt adding up. on the factory box it says 5000 watts in big numbers and letters; and right beside that in even bigger letters is PH-D3. another strange thing that i found was that where i bought it from, they called it "the rock" and not "the destroyer". everything else about this amp and the 6000 watt amp is the same (mono block - single channel amplifier, built-in variable low pass-filter, all time low-pass operation, two independent low level RCA inputs, optically coupled remote gain control, 1-gauge power connection). when i said its worth about $2500, i accounted for preownership even though its never been used; but yes, the retail price for it and what i bought it for is $2700. from what i can tell, id put all of my money on this being a d3 and not a d2. i dont know if they labeled the boxes of early released models or what. but since the box says 5000 watts and the 6000 watt amp is $2700; then i guess the retail value of what i got is $2250 if its truly 5000 watts. is there some way to test the wattage?

How can you beat Crown. There home stuff is pretty sick when it comes to power output. Like the K1 and K2.

To the original poster, you may want to consider registering on termpro.com forums. I am sure you can get rid of that amp very quickly on that board. Bunch of SPL guys hang out there.
King of all amps hands down belongs to Harrison Labs. Their 'Drag Queen' puts out something like 25,000 watts. Granted it's an amp designed for SPL and puts out for 30 seconds or something like that.. and takes a few minutes to charge (typically 2 minutes to charge up). But that's what I call the king of amps. Only 3 or 4 ever made and DB Drag outlawed them lol

That is not a real amp. It does not amplify music, and it is not legal on any spl circuit

I know, but it's still king!!! What other amp can really say it was banned from SPL compititions not long after it was introduced

Haha. True. But hooking a .5 ohm load up to 120 volts will produce 28000 watts at 60hz
And my plug is just as much of an amp as that thing claims to be.

JBL just came out with the A6000Gti, Thing is as big as a suitcase it has a max of6000 @ 2 ohms, I believe, sounds like a monster. It was co-produced with crown.

I saw a pic of one installed in the bed of a truck. It was almost as wide as the truck bead. That amp will fill the trunk of a compact pretty easily.
