Default Where should I hook it up?

Just got the Proform shift light for my 88 CRX. I was wondering where where the place to put the distributer wire. By the distributer or by the tach or ECU? I want to get the most accurate reading. Also what would be a good ground and power to splice into?

Shouldn't matter. THose signals trave at the speed of light and if any were faded, your car wouldn't run.
