Hooking AC back up after non use
About a year ago I overtightened my AC compressor belt and my compressor ended up cracking.
I removed the compressor and used electric tape and plastic to cover the lines.
Now I want to hook up the AC again. After I find a good used compressor, do I need to replace anything else like the evaporator since my system was open for a few hours and taped for like a year? How critical is that? Also, what do I need to tell the garage to do to my system, flush, whatever when they recharge it to insure there isn't any contamination and things work properly.
Thanks

All you will need to replace is the receiver drier. it is the little pop can shaped thing. It has a dessicant i it that goes bad after prolonged exposure to atmospere. After you replace that make sure the guy who charges the system knows its been open for a while so he can pull a long vacuum on the system to get out all the moisture. Thats it!.

What about replacement of the o-rings?
I have heard they tend to dry out and crack after the refrigerant/lubricant is drained and or not run through the system for a prolonged period of time...
