Tokiko Illumnas and Skunk 2 adjustables
Ok heres my question. To the people who have this setup. How did you use the rubber rings for the spring collars? I put these on a 94 dx coupe auto and I couldnt fit the rubber rings on cause the struts aretoo fat to use any of the rubber rings. I wraped duct tape around the strut untill I could fit the collars on tightly. Is this the only way to fit skunk 2 with illumnas? Also what are the settings like is 1 soft and 5 firm? Another wierd thing I noticed is I adjusted the springs so that there was almost no slack between the spring and the strut when it wasnt compressed and it only raised it enuf to where I only had about 1 1/2'' wheel gap. Is this cause the car is heavy? When I used the skunk 2's on my 88HB I had to lower the perches almost all the way to get it low. Thanks for the replys if there are any.
Ok, Lets see if i can remember. I used 3 o rings and used a flathead screwdriver to jam em underneath the sleeve so they wouldnt bounce around, and just used some muscle to bring the collar to the base of the shock perch. I put a big one on the bottom for it to rest on but it slowly ate through the ring. And about the height, if you want it higher just bring it up more, you could also have gotten integra spring rates and it wouldnt go down as much because they have a higher rate, but just make do with what ya got. I played with mine for over a period of days to get the height where i wanted it.
koo so I guess its normal for the perches to be higher on the 92-95 than when I had the setup on my 88HB..must be the wieght and short struts that made the HB sit higher when the percehs were actualy lower. Any pix of the sleve and struts mounted ie with the wheel off?
