Attention HC racers at Summit: I need a volunteer
I'm looking for a host car to mount my camera stuff in for the HC sessions. I've got a couple micro cameras, an industrial suction cup, and a pair of mics that I can mount on/in your vehicle to catch some cool footage on track.
The only issue is that I don't have a camcorder to feed the external devices into. So, the only requirement is that you have your own camcorder, and it has the ability to record from an external analog source. A lot of the mid-line MiniDV cameras have this ability, so dig up your manual and check yours out.
PM me, or post here, if you are interested.

I'll be there with the camcorder and we can run that behemoth on my kaa...
I'll also have a CD of the other f00tage

PS. As long as it is allowed during the race....I guess we'll find out on site

I would, but my camcorder doesn't have external A/V Inputs.

Cool.
I'll have to check with an official to make sure it's ok. I plan to tether the assembly to the car, just in case, but the suction cup is made for handling glass, and is rated at 40 lbs. The camera weighs less than 1 pound, and that's the bigger of the two that I have...
Here's some pics I took this morning showing some possibilities:

I can check my camcorder. You might get some good footage from me too. Since I don't know the car that well, I probably won't qualify well. You might get some good clips of me trying to make my way through the field to get up to the other H1 cars!

Is this at race speed? Remember a 1 lb camera exerts a lot more force when you're going 120. I wonder what it would do to the aerodynamics of the car. I know it's not that big but just switching a sideview mirror on a 944 nets a solid half second. In any case, that would be some awesome video.

The camera shown is a 1/3" CCD color cam rated at about 480 lines, and is wheatherproof. That one is on loan to me.
I also have a tiny board cam with a 1/4" CCD rated at 460 lines.
As of right now I only have 1 cam running at a time. It would be nice to be able to record from multiple cams simultaneously, but that would require some additional hardware that I don't have. A quad multiplexer that seperates the screen into 4 windows would be neat.
