my shifter seems to be loose or somthing...when im in gear it rattles...i think it is sumthin to do with the shift linkage...i replaced the shifter wit a short shifter but its still rattling or seems loose...then i tried tighening any bolts that has to do wit the shifter and the linkage..but that didnt seem to do much...what could it be....thanx in advance

 

check teh bushings

 

tighten the shift ****....mines use to do that....

 

i did everything..tighen the shift ****..bolts to the short shifter...and bolts on the linkage connecting to the short shifter..it still rattles like crazy..like im in gear and everything...but nothing seems to help it..

 

Is it rubbing against the exhaust piping ?

 

yea..when i go to 5th gear its rubbing against the piping...reverse too..1st 2nd 3rd and 4th arn't ....

 

Either move the muffler piping down a little or just learn to live with it.
