Dude, was it you that said you had some ghetto coil in there that MAY not be wired right??? Replace that **** with the real deal, that was probably your problem form the damn start!
Hope it works out...\

not sure exactly what it's doing when you say it doesnt start...but i'd replace the starter before i'd started parting it out. explore all the other options first, maybe take it to a shop...cuz it'll save you alot of trouble if you get it workin then trying to sell your car in peices to fund a new vehicle purchase.

Last afternoon, i pruchased and replced in its entirety, the distributor, the rotor and the cap, then i connected it all and the car still didnt start up, so i tried to power the battery thinking it was low on charge, did that and it still had no effect, so i think this accel coil, i am going to completely remove it, then from there rewire the entire original ignition coil, and see where that takes me, if that is the problem then once its up and running i will hook up with a friend and he will get me the entire MSD setup...that way there is no half-assness, because this **** has gone beyond getting on my nerves...! thanks for the vote of confidence guys, thats why i love HT...oh, and if you can provide pointers or input, im online all day and will check it constantly, thanks a shitload!

this is the best, i rewired the old stock ignition coil back into working order, took out the aftermarket coil, and i tried to turn the car over, the car started going ch ch ch ch like it wanted to turn over, it did that about seven times, then i heard this extra loud pop, i mean pretty loud, and then it stopped, i was like damn, i checked the wiring to make sure the **** is colormatched properly, and all is well, so i dont know wtf is going on...dont know what popped, everything is wired properly etc...so i dont know, any suggestions on what might have popped, please let me know, besides that, i think i might have to get it towed to the dealership...shame, its a great car!

did you buy a complete rebuilt distributor?

If your re-installing the WHOLE THING, you might've misaligned the shaft from TDC (or whatever it is...i've never checked the specs on the accord)

Check you spark plug-wire routing. That's classic non-start + "and i don't know what the hell is going on!"

Original ignition coil - yes...definately do that.

it was a complete rebuilt distributor, had everything on it, then i purchased the new cap and rotor seperate, then i put that on, and i know i did that right, cause its hard to **** up, i read up about the shaft in the haynes manual, but ive been assured by a few people that when putting the new distributor in, the shaft wont move, as far as spark plug wire routing, i lost you there? what does mean? could the loud pop be one of the spark plugs blowing up or something? i have no clue what is going on and i think its high time i get it towed over to the dealer, they will fix it at a price but itll be done right, soon, and with OEM parts...which equals less worries that trial and error working! but keep the suggestions coming, i do need help, can anyone tell me what the loud pop was? anyone? pleez...?

So the engine will just turn over and over? Have you tried taking a look at the main relay? Check the solder on it and re-solder if neccesary. That is the problem my car had.

the engine wont even turn over now since the day it was trying to turn over, and then that huge loud popping sound came out, since then, its odd, some of the things in the car dont work, like the horn, but the headlights work, the car has gone weird, i am trying to figure out where the sound came from, it sounded like someone popping bublewrap, but through a megaphone, i dont know where it came from...its odd but true, man, that **** needs to go to a mechanic, and needs a thorough run through...****** honda...i have no other problems with my other honda, the nissan or the toyota, and this piece of shyte is acting up, so much strain on my already busy life...someone help SOS!

The pop was probably a backfire through the intake - you're probably too far advanced in the timing curve. If timing is determined by the distributor, then alignment on re-installation is critical. You can't just slip it back in and expect it to be correct.

you try replacing/checking the starter?

try push starting it to see if it starts. put the key in and turn it to the on spot. Push the car to a roll and then pop it in first, drop the clutch and stomp on it immediately to get it to turn the engine.

yea, i love the car, and i would hate to let all my work go to waste, but i do have another which is requires no work, so i do have that, the problem does seem so simple, let me explain how it all started, uhm, one day out of the blue, the car was taking a while to turn over when starting, it took me a while, then from then it started doing it a lot...so, time passed and the **** would sometimes start and other times it wouldnt without a jump start, more time passed and even a jump start wouldnt start the ****...now it sits dead in my driveway, so far ive replaced the cap, rotor, entire distributor, and that isnt it, i am ready to either tow it somewhere and let them fix it, or, the other alternative is to part it out, get the money, and get a new TSX, but dont get me wrong, i love this car would most probably keep it if i could find a simple solution to it working...keep posting, need help!
