Field SFC Tach Question
Well, we recently installed a Field SFC in my brother's car (thanks again to those that helped with the ECU pin-outs). Every wire was soldered (and shrink-tubed except for the taps) and there are no problems with the operation of the unit and no CEL.
The one thing we have noticed, however, is that the tach feature seems to be consistently "off" by approximately 200 RPM when compared with the stock tach. I am aware of the stock tach's accuracy problem, especially at high RPM, but the Field unit indicates ~200 RPM lower across the rev range, all the way to redline. I had always assumed that the stock tach was reasonably accurate at low RPM's, but that doesn't appear to be the case when comparing it with the Field display.
Has anyone else experienced a pessimistic tach on the SFC? The RPM signal we are using is the ICM wire, which I am almost completely certain is the correct feed.
