off topic but i really need some help
i had to erase my hard drive and pop in my recovery CD and when it poped up it asked for my windows 95 CD key. unfortunitly I cant find it and belive that i threw it away. I was hoping that somone on here would have one and be able to help me out if possible.

try searching kazaa, another program, or the internet for a windows 95 cd key generator. why are you still using windows 95? i would upgrade if i were you.

im not still using windows 95, i had to put in the recover CD that puts the computer back to the way it was when I bought it years ago ( with windows 95 already on it). I already have windows 98 but I cant load it untill i get the windows 95 key and unlock my computer.

Yeah I would do what he said and search kazaa or the internet for the key. I dont know many people that would be willing to give up their CD key for windows well willingly atleast

Why go back to 95? Go to a working Windoze 98 machine, make a startup disk. Boot to that, instead of your original rescue disk. It will ask for your W98 CD, and its key. Then it will just go ahead & install 98.

That wont work unless he has the full version of Windows 98 disc which he doesnt have since he upgraded from 95 so he most likely only has the Windows 98 upgrade.
