How to get M/T ET Streets on my Integra
I've got a 98 Integra LS and I want to find a way to get ET STREETS on it. Now, they don't make an ET STREET in 14 inches, so I was thinking about getting them on 15's. I'll just need to get the 99 GSR wheels. Does anybody here know if this will be too wide to fit my car?
THe tire will be too big for those rims (and probably the suspension too if you use those rims w/o spacers) according to MT's approved rim width of +/- 1" of the tread width.
The smallest tread width is 8.3" for the ET streets and 7.7" for the ET drags (but those aren't DOT approved). The GS-R rims are only 6" wide.
You're not supposed to drive on them to the event. They'd probably bounce the whole way there and back.
I'm not sure why they even make a DOT approved street drag tire. They're not supposed to be driven on for scooting around and even if they were, they're probably going to bounce all the time, heat cycle, wear faster, and shorten their lifespan. Why compromise? Just use the ET Drag slicks for single-purpose track usage.
Then again, I've never used drag slicks and probably never will. So if somebody with actual usage experience could offer helpful advice, that would probably be more meaningful.

I do a bit of street racing for money, but I typically like to run in pump gas/street tire events, so bringing the car out on an ET Streets would be fkn hilarious to see. It's a DOT approved street tire. It counts.
A bunch of domestics run around here on ET Streets, so I'm pretty aware of the limitations.
The reason M/T doesn't make an ET Street in a size that would fit is because currently, there are no classes in import racing in which running an ET Street would benefit, unless you're like me and would use them in a situation in which a street tire is mandatory.
Perhaps I could have a custom set made.....yes....that would be the ****.
