More like a truck if you want a solid door closing experience

I bought Peel and Seal from my local Lowe's Hardware and put 2 layers on the very inner metal in the door and one layer on the outside of the plastic panel and the doors sound like a Lexus when shut. Very sold instead of hollow like before. Plus, it eliminates some road noise and it's cheaper than buying Dynamat. There's a slight tar smell for a couple of days, but goes away with time. Good luck.

I've installed sound deadening on my car, but the windows rattle. If they are not all the way up there is about 1/4" of play, on both the driver and passenger side. It's a 93 Ex.

Yep, same here. I used 17 sq feet on each door. I noticed it's making the hinges kinda sag now. shucks.
When I bang on the door...it's freakin solid...doesn't sound like a tin can anymore. Bass response is better, and road noise is much less noticeable. Didn't even add hardly any weight.
I'm also applying it to the floor. Keeps out a lot of heat, and again helps with road noise.

If you remove the screws going into the latch on the door one at a time and put a dab of locktite on the end of the threads and put them back in TIGHT...
Then you tighten the stiker plate on the doorsill... close it... and if it's not lined up right you can adjust the striker plate so it pulls in/pushes out or raises/lowers the door seam.
The sound deadening mentioned above be it "peel and seal" or true "dynamat" will DEFINATELY make the doors solid feeling and sounding... I'm planning on doing that soon...
OH and to the guy who posted about the window freeplay... if you take off your door panel you'll see the window is attached to a track by a couple of screws... those are probobly loose... you could retighten them or put a touch of locktite on them and it won't come up as a problem again... but it'll be a beotch to get those screws loose if you ever need to change the window again... Probobly better off just tightening them.

You should be able to find dynamat at any place that sell audio equipment. I think i even bought some at sears once. Plus if you do a search on the internet you'll find tons of online stores to buy it at
Is this peel and seal heavy compared to the true dynamat? I've eaten, slept, and applied with dynamat for a year and this crap is pretty heavy.
