hey guys, im wondering what to go with for my sw20 mr2. im thinkin either of the 2. i want to be able to setup for drifting and circuit and a lil drag. i know most of you dont have this car but just feedback on the suspension would be great. any other suggestions would be good too for this driving. it will also be daily driven.

well thats why both are adjustable dampers meaning adjusting the setting to the suited driving. anyways, i just wanna know who owns any od these, what you think and what driving you do.
by the way, anyone know any racing school around northern east coast(new england)?

Unless you are going to be changing springs for every event, then there is no such thing as a suspension suited for drag and track days (who the hell knows what works for drifting: similar to the track I imagine). They require completely different chassis tuning.
My suggestion: Set-up the car for the track, and occasionally take it to the strip. The race track will require plenty of adjustment out of your suspension.
Wait, first you need to learn how to drive. Do some HPDEs (http://www.nasaproracing.com) and go to autocrosses. A full $8K Ohlins suspension isn't going to save you from your newbie skills. Spend your money where is counts.

actually in FWD it's not as different as in RWD/AWD. in FWD, the front wheels has to do all the working, weather it is drifting, dragging, or road racing. so you can actually have a setup that does all 3 pretty good. but of course it would still be a compromised setup.
driving techniques has a huge impact on the performance and behavior or the car. thus, i suggest as much seat time as possible.
when i want to practice drift with my civic, all i need to do is reduce the rear grip - put on some skinny all season 165/70/13 tires. it'll rotate with the best of them.

those are a waste of money for beginners. $700 buys you usually 3 open track days with some decent instruction. i shouldn't say waste of money actually. but one can find better bang for the buck else where. skippy and russell are for the rich ppl.

it's not like you can tell the difference. sorry to be harsh. if you want to pose with jdm bling, go Tein. you want something that can be rebuild to full race spec, go Koni.

just cuz tein is jdm, doesnt mean its all hype. teins can be rebuilt to race spec also and koni doesnt have a full damper kit do they?tein is also 16 way adjustable dampers and i think koni is only 10 way, correct me if im wrong.

it's just marketing and lots of japanese has done an awesome job of it. Koni has won major motorsports stuff. what has Tein won? enough said.
i don't mean to say Tein is crap, they are very good as off the shelf stuff. i installed a set on a my buddy's nsx 2 weeks ago. good quality stuff. you asked for the difference, i'm just tell you straight up.

well this is going to be for a mr2 or 240sx. for these 2 applications, im pretty sure theyre still for sale. only the HE drift suspension was cancelled for the 240sx. there is no ss for these cars anyway. can you get prices for the tein HA on these cars? (if they still exist)
