Default would you sell to this guy?

theres a guy in africa who want to buy my hatch for $3500...few mods. basically stock pretty much anyways here a email to me of the deal.. sounds hella weird..i actually had a guy like this wanna buy my car when i had my integra,he was from africa too.. what do you think..heres his message:

"How are you doing today? Thanks a lot for your mail.the price is ok by me, This is how we are going to seal
this transaction There is an associate of mine in the US who is owing me $9,500 i am
going to instruct him to send you a check for that amount, and when it clears your
bank you can now send my balance via money gram transfer. The reason why i am doing
this is that a check sent from over here in Africa would take like 30days or more to
clear whereas a check sent within the US would clear almost immediately
Although i know that the value of the check is more than
the price of the Good but i am willing to trust you with my balance So if this offer
is acceptable to you,let me have your contact information so that i can instruct my
associate to send you a check, that is your name, address and phone number Please get
back to me as soon as soon as you get this mail so that i can know your decision
regards smith.I am banking on my balance so that i will be able to settle my
shippers here in there local office so that they can come for the pick up from your location because it is cheaper and faster. My regards to
the family "

Actually a friend of mine had a similiar thing happen to him, someone in another country, I can't remember where.. wanted to give him checks to cash and then him send the money back. Turns out they were stolen checks and would have been commiting fraud if he got cought. Luckily his owns a insurance agency and was able to check it out, that's how they found out. I'd be very carfull if I were you!
