AGX vs. Yellows
Ok, I've been going back & forth on this for too long now. Want to get some advice. 96 sol vtec being set up for auto-x & daily driver. I don't care about comfort that much (wife does, that's why I'm looking at adjustables). I'm riding on H&R race springs now w/ revalved stock shocks (paperwork said revalved to handle 350 lb/in springs) but they're not holding up the way I'd like. Unfortunately, I'm also not sure when they were done as the previous owner had them revalved (not sure why...doesn't make sense to pay to revalve stock shocks vs. buying good aftermarket ones..).
Anyway, I went with the H&R after receiving a lot of good info on them. They're progressive unfotunately, so there's no set rate for me to go by. I'm dealing w/ 2.25" front / 2" rear drop. I seem to remember that the AGX didn't handle that kind of drop as well. I really just want to know if it's worth the extra $100-150 for me to get the yellows (I love the lifetime warranty but for as long as I'll own the car, I'm not sure if they're overkill for me or not). What's your opinions & experience?
Also, if anyone knows somebody selling some yellows for <$480 please let me know.
TIA for your help...

The factory shocks are not revalvable and not even openable. Many years ago some people would drill holes in the sides and drain them, then put thicker oil in them and try to find a way to reseal them. Today that would be laughable and called ghetto. I'd be very interested to see what if anything was done and what the paperwork is and says.
If you are interested in a dyno comparison of the KONIs vs. AGXs and a few others, check out http://www.koni-na.com/civicdyno.pdf

Lee, it's my assumption that they're stockies. They're black shocks that look like normal Honda ones by the part numbers... I don't put a lot of faith in the quality of the job. They do seem to be better than other stock shocks I've messed with but that's not saying a whole lot....

I have AGXs and KYB won't warrenty AGX with drops past 1.5" from OEM stock height. So either Koni yellows or Bilstein HD, if you not worried about adjusting them.
