Default How do I use my new slicks?

Newbie question...tires are MH 22*8*13

What's the Tire Pressure?
Dump the clutch at what RPM (modded B16a/CRX)?
How do I heat up the tires?

They don't need them? Wide causes more drag...

Only use the slick size you 'need', dependant on power and gearing.

Hay 7rrivera; John@M&H. You would start out @ 13 psi and go down 1 pound @ a time untill you feel you are hooking up, but I would not go below 7 psi. Good Luck

i'm pretty sure you didn't know how to walk, but you learned on your own. you might have follen, but you got up right? if everyone knew how to drag on street tire, you would hear of 1.9 60' much more often. i too will be buying a set of slick in the near future, and i have the same questions like the fellow that made this topic up! john@m&h thankx for the info, for you

Hay ( HotRodDeSol ) I have showed alot a racers that you dont have to break a axle 1- You know you will have the best tire on the car. 2- Just bring the air pressure up untill you step up to some good axles.

That's not true...Stock Axles are adaquate until big power.

Slicks are actually easier on the drivetrain because It's alot harder to wheelhop slicks than it is street tires. Wheelhop is what kill slicks in lower-power applications. Now, a 600whp Turbo Car on 26" Slicks is going to snap a stock axle like a twig, but It'll still prolly last a few passes. It all really depends on launch and driving techniques and all Engine Mounts and Suspension Setup. You want the Axles to be close to parallel with the ground on the launch, it causes the least ammount of stress on the driveline.

any idiot that has been to the track can watch and learn how to use slicks. they dont need to b posting it on the net so as far as im concerned ur little statement means jack.
axle life is also very weight dependent. 3 axles in a 2500lb coupe on DRs 3 yrs ago powered by a GSR with bolt ons. 1 axle last yr in a 2000lb hatch on slicks with mild 5.5-6k launch on a built motor. so far no axles this yr with a 1700lb car with 8k+ launches with the same motor.
o yeah the first paragraph wasnt aimed at u dave. it was to the other guy up top.

I've seen stock axles break at just over 200 hp on a hard launch.... I don't doubt any of you, I'm just speaking from what I've seen in the past. It's all in how you drive it
