Your airbags didn't blow so you didn't try hard enough
You may have ripped out the reverse switch on the tranny. Get under the car and look around the tranny and you'll see if something is wrong.

i dunno about la but in grand rapids, mi. there is some law where if they dont fix a pothole in 2 weeks or sumthing like that and someone hits it the city has to pay to fix your car cos your alignment could be all fugged up now.

buy some brighter headlights and keep your eyes on the road!!! no seriously i would check your whole front suspension because by now its probably all messed up from you hitting stuff. I bought a new outer tie rod end from when i hit a curb (from snowy icy road) and the old one was so tore up compared to the new one (which was $25 from a parts store). I would check all the suspension pieces, uca's, lca's, tie rods, axles (one of mine was split), just make sure all this stuff is still in tact...
did you check the bulbs for the reverse lights? check the fuses too.

Well I too would have to say it might be the reverse switch on the tranny, that is usually why you don't get the reverse lights to come on. So ya I would check the tranny over.

see if you can find a picture of a tranny to find exactly where the switch is, also.

that sucks.. same thing happen to me in my old 88 hatch it was slammed and i was driving through santa monica right by the pramonade and they were working on the street and cops were directing traffic and the street was all dug up.. and then rasied like 5 - 6 inches like a curb where the street was ok again and it was dark at night and bammm i hit it sooo hard like my chest hurt from the impact of the car.. felt like the cross member slammed into it like a solid impact. i had a jdm front with a spoon lip molded on and i was sure it was gonna be all smashed up or completly torn off.. i was so pissed i punched my steering wheel.. but i hada mugen wheel and i hit the center metal and broke my pinkie knuckle and blood was everywhere.. when i finally got out and looked it was ok.. musta hit my oilpan or crossmemeber or someshit who knows

yeah, **** the city... I hit a big *** pothole , poped a tire and bent a rim... I tried to sue the city and get money for my wheel, but they sent me a letter saying that no one else had complained about it... I went back to snap a pic and boom it was fixed... ******* city officials....
always take pics as soon as possible!!!

you guys keep complaining about potholes in LA. Try driving sumthin slammed in New England. Constant weather changes force states to repave roads constantly. It really stinks. Anyhoo...you said to check reverse switch...first thing i'd check is the fuse for the reverse lights...if that's ok then check the switch. The wiring for the switch is going to be a 2 wire harness approximately 2 iches to the passenger side of the car where the tranny and block meet. If i am not mistaken...there should be a gray 2 pin plug in the near vacinity of the clutch slave on the front of the tranny. If you have a multimeter, test for continuity between these 2 wires when you put it into reverse. If you got continuity...the switch be good.
